You CAN make time for God’s Word, even if it feels like there’s never a spare moment
So let’s talk about Bible study rhythms that *actually* fit your real life.
Yes, interruptions will happen.
Kids need snacks. Diapers have to be changed. Someone has to be somewhere at a certain time and you’re already behind schedule (again).
But that doesn’t mean you have to give up on Bible study altogether (or give in to whatever else feels urgent). And if this morning was just another drop in the bucket of times you tried to open your Bible again but got distracted and never came back to it…I promise it’s okay.
Bible Rhythms for Real Life was created for the mom who’s experiencing exactly that kind of morning.
For the mom who has…
- tried Bible reading plans but never finishes them
- prayed “Lord, help me stop snapping or shutting down”
- felt guilty or overwhelmed when you think about how to find time for God’s Word
I see you. I’ve been there. And I promise that coming back to Jesus will slowly but surely make it all feel lighter.
In the early days of becoming a mother of two, I sometimes literally had all of 10 minutes to myself (when I often needed to shower or eat), so Bible study felt far from my mind.
Somewhere along the way, time with God became one more thing to manage. And the demands of motherhood with a 2-year-old and a newborn were already overwhelming, so how could I possibly add one more thing? Even a good thing like Bible study?
The importance of this habit finally clicked for me when I realized what happened when I wasn’t regularly in my Bible:
- I had less patience with my toddler (even when he was doing totally normal 2-year-old things)
- I would get overwhelmed and overstimulated before noon nearly every day
- I had less self-control over my attitudes and emotions
- I relied too often on my own strength to muscle through the day
- I was disconnected from the purpose and joy of the mundane moments
Instead of trying and failing over and over, I finally built a Bible rhythm that fit my real life.
And that’s what this guide helps you do too.

I literally took everything I learned in the last 2+ years about building a flexible Bible study rhythm as a mom and packaged it into this ebook for you. And these are STILL the same strategies I’m using now with a toddler and a preschooler running around.
Now that I’ve settled into a flexible routine for Bible study, when things don’t go how I expect during the day or the interruptions are just a little too much for me to get back to it…I’ve learned to pivot instead of being frustrated (or skipping Bible study altogether). So sometimes I read on the Bible app at 11pm or listen to the Bible in the car on the way to the store, because I know that it all counts.
Bible study isn’t just a spiritual practice or an item to check off on the “good Christian” to-do list.
It’s where we interact with the living Word of God.
It’s where we find the peace we need to have a sense of calm even when the next tantrum makes us feel out of control.
It’s where we learn about our Savior Jesus, who suffered and persevered and gives us the strength to do the same.
It’s where we see example after example of God’s goodness and his faithfulness, so we can know with confidence that He is good and faithful in our current season too.
You can create space for Jesus even when life is loud.
